They say an elephant never forgets, but what they don’t tell you is that you never forget an elephant. Especially this particular one, Craig, one of the most iconic elephants in Africa and one of the last remaining Super Tuskers.
Born in 1972, Craig has been roaming the plains of Amboseli for almost 50 years.
He’s Intelligent beyond belief.
Powerful, yet emotionally aware.
Majestic, yet remarkably calm.
But with tusks weighing over 100 lbs each, human greed pushed him and his species to the edge of extinction. But thanks to the dense African forest they survived. Making his existence a testament to the resilience of Mother Nature.
With only 24 super tusk elephants left in the wild all over Africa, this was a moment I’ll never forget.

What people say about my prints

★★★★★

We have been following Pie’s work for more than 5 years now. Therefore, having one of his Umoja prints decorating our home, is not only an incredible honour, but also a testament to our support for his mission as an artist and conservationist. His work is now a beautiful daily reminder of our own memories made in Africa on various trips to Kenya as well as Zambia.

★★★★★

It’s been such a rewarding process to pick & choose the artworks as well as the materials for our two framed Umoja prints. Pie carefully guided us through the entire process and even invited us in his studio in Amsterdam to see some of the samples in person. His approach to making art as well as his commitment to protecting nature, is tangible in every step of the way.
